UPDATED INFORMATION We are pleased to announce that we will be restarting youth coaching. Each session will be limited to 15 places and will operate in three bubbles of 5 participants. You will need to book on each session individually.
Please book here. Link to WEBCOLLECT
For each session you will have to complete a Health Declaration and bring it with you.
In order to maximise the use of the remaining part of the year Sunday coaching will take place on:
2nd 16th and 30th August,
6, and 20th September
Start time 0930 finish 1230.
For those of you that have already paid earlier in the year for Youth Coaching then these sessions will incur no extra cost. If you did not sign up to youth coaching earlier in the year the cost is £35. Club boats are free to hire but any use must be recorded in the Boat Hire book in the lobby.
Add each date that you want attend to your Basket, and then press the Payment option if you need to pay for these sessions.
Over time there is progression from taught sailing to ‘Race Coaching’ and members who have passed Stage 1 can join in the Sunday coaching sessions and races. These sessions take the Juniors right through from Club Sailing, to local events and through to the RYA Zone squads. Along the way a lot of fun is had with Pirates Days, Family Camping, and summer activities.
Young sailors are positively encouraged and welcome to join in with all Club activities. Sailors without boats of their own can use the club's fleet of race rigged Toppers, Optimists, RS Teras, Laser Pico, RS Feva, Hartley H12/2 or the Club's Laser Radial or 4.7
There is a very friendly and active youth section, with high quality coaching for the beginner and improver throughout the season. The Club is a leading member of the Northamptonshire Junior Circuit and regularly sends representatives to major national youth events such as the Eric Twiname National Junior Finals and National Schools Regatta.
The club has several members in RYA Zone Squads, and the National Youth Squads.

There are lots of opportunities for juniors to sail in events in the Midlands: the fixture list (above) summarises these including Optimist and Topper events and the Northamptonshire Youth Series that is for any junior class boat.
Two of the events are at Hollowell so it would be great to get a good turn out from Hollowell sailors for these events. Most of these events are less than an hour away from Hollowell so well within reach for a day trip.
If it’s anyone’s first time sailing away from the club and they want some advice or want to borrow a boat they can contact Ivor McDonnell or Elizabeth Maher (our new Hollowell Sailing Club Youth Leader). Most of the coaches know all about these events so they should also be able to help answer any questions.
Thinking of joining us? We suggest you make a visit to the Sailing Club; have a chat and a look around. See our 'Sailing Programme' for opening times. Contact our Membership Secretary - Ruth Cross, if you have a query.
