Training Courses

You can make sailing what you want it to be – relaxing or high-adrenaline, sociable or secluded, on sheltered inland waters or on the open sea. Sailing is one of the most rewarding, healthy, outdoor activities you can take part in.
Sailing teaches youngsters self-reliance, inspires confidence and sociability. Sailing offers families the opportunity to have fun together, or to grab single-handed escapism from time to time!
On-Board is ideally suited to school groups and teaches children to sail over 4 sessions, while our Taster sessions are for young and old, and give an experience of sailing.

Adult courses are open to anyone over the age of 12 years.

Medical form – When the booking process is completed you will be given a form in which you can detail any medical conditions and emergency contacts. This form should be given to the supervising instructor on the first day of the course, and will be returned upon completion.

What to Bring

Food & Drink - Hot drinks will be available to buy from the galley. Saturday:- You will need to bring your own lunch. Sunday:- There should be normal galley staff on duty. You can order hot food before 10:30 or you can bring your own.

Equipment - Buoyancy aids and splash tops can be provided if required.

Course numbers - Please note that all courses require a minimum number of participants for them to run. In this unlikely event, we will provide a refund or offer an alternative suitable date.

Attendance – All courses are normally 9.30-16.30 unless otherwise agreed. Please be changed and ready by 0930. Do not underestimate how long it takes to get changed.

Bad weather – We will always do our best to run the course, so if it’s raining or just general bad weather, the course will go-ahead. However we do reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the course.

Safety – As a recognised training centre we comply with all standards set out by the RYA. While sailing is a safe sport everything in life has an element of risk. We ask for your co-operation in complying with our club safety policy and listen to your instructors as they are here for your safety as well as helping to improve your sailing.
