Run over two days our instructors will take you from the very basics up to being able to sail a single-handed or double handed dinghy. For the double handed course an instructor will be in the boat with you for the majority of the course. For those wanting to learn to sail a single handed boat this can be accommodated.
At the end of this course you should be able to sail a triangle ‘under instruction’ but often you will be able to do this on your own.
Course content: How to sail in all directions, including an awareness of launching and recovering.
The Level 2 course will give you the confidence to sail on your own and introduce some new skills like man over board practice, coming alongside, and leaving/returning to shore under different wind directions. At the end of this two day course you should be able to sail on your own in light-medium winds. Again this is run over two days and at the end you receive the RYA Level 2 certificate.
Course content: Rigging, launching, sailing in all directions, capsize recovery and essential safety knowledge.
